YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — If you are in the mood for some good music in September, then plan to swing by 911Թϱ Saturday, Sept. 20, for the annual Pops on the Patio concert. The event is free and open to the public.
The 911Թϱ Concert Band will be performing, with the concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. The band will perform a wide range of music centered around pop culture personalities and characters.
The playlist includes everything from Looney Tunes to the Barber of Seville. Concert goers will enjoy the “sweet” sounds of Sweet Georgia Brown and Sweet Child O’ Mine, not to mention the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.
There will be plenty of activity this weekend as it’s also YHC’s annual Family Weekend, which brings the students’ families to campus for an entire weekend. Everything from an outdoor climbing tower, family photos, 911Թϱ Athletics’ events, and even Porchfest, Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., will be on tap. Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic meal or whatever you need to enjoy some good music, and we’ll see you there. If the weather does not cooperate, the location will be the Suber Banquet Hall in the Rollins Campus Center.
